Column colours use California's four levels of risk. California use positivity rate and new daily cases per 100k. Unfortunately PHE don't publish the number of tests at Local Authority Level so we can't calculate a positivity rate; we use the daily cases per 100k. Because the most recent days in the data are under-reported (data still being collated) we use the average daily value from the latest week calculated above.

We process the ONS weekly death data - England and Wales - for our UK local authority hexmaps (json). ONS tend to publish the death data once per week on Tuesdays so the dates are given in each panel. Data on confirmed cases are from five requests (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield) to Public Health England's API.
