About these maps
This visualisation was created by Open Innovations and uses hex cartograms. A hex cartogram gives each area the same visual weight on the map at the expense of accurate geography. This helps make geographically compact (but often big in population) areas more easily visible than a geographic map. Using consistent shapes (hexagons) also makes it easier to spot outliers.
The travel time values are calculated by finding the minimum travel time by each mode to an MSOA with a vaccination site from the current MSOA. Times in the source data are limited to 60 minutes.
Data sources
To power the visualisation we compile all the data by MSOA in a single CSV file.
